எமது தாயக மக்கள்தம் மொழிஇ கலைஇ கல்விஇ பண்பாடுஇ ஆன்மீகமஇ; வாழ்வியல்இ வரலாறு குறித்த விழிப்புணர்வு மற்றும் அபிவிருத்தி நோக்கிய பணிகளில் ஈர்ப்புடன் ஈடுபடும் நோக்கோடும்…
புலம் பெயர் நாடுகளில் வாழும் எமது இளைய மற்றும் நாளைய சந்ததியினரின் நலன்கள்இ நன்மைகள் கருதியும்…
சமூகப்பணிகளில் தம்மை ஈடுபடுத்த வல்ல ஒன்பது (09) பேர்களை அறங்காவலர்களாகவும்…அங்கத்தவர்களாகவும் கொண்ட இந்து தமிழ் கலாச்சார சங்கம் (என்பீல்ட்) எனும் அமைப்பு தோற்றம் பெற்றது.
சங்கத்தோற்றத்தின் பரந்துபட்ட நோக்கினை நிறைவேற்றுவதற்கான முதற்படி நிலையாக….அம்மனின் திருவருள் கொண்டு என்பீல்ட்; பகுதியில் அம்பாளின் ஆலயமொன்றினை நிறுவும் திட்டம்… இவற்றோடு சம்பந்தப்பட்டவர்களிடம் கலந்தாலோசித்த பின்னர் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது.
இதன் விளைவாக அம்பாள் ஆலயத்தின் பிரதம குருவான கமலநாதக்குருக்களினதும்…மற்றும் சிவசிறீ சச்சிதானந்தக்குருக்களினதும் இணைந்த ஆசிகள்.. வழிகாட்டல்கள்…வழிபாட்டுக் கிரியைகளோடு… அம்பாள் வழிபாடு என்பீல்ட்டில் ஆரம்பமானது.
இதனைத்தொடர்ந்து பின்வரும் நிகழ்வுகள் அன்றுதொட்டு இன்றுவரை நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.
12.07.2002 - வெள்ளிக்கிழமை விக்ரோறியா வீதியில் அமைந்துள்ள Malden hall இல் அம்பாளின் திருவுருவப் படத்துடன் அம்பாள் வழிபாடு ஆரம்பமாகி தொடர்ந்தும் இம்மண்டபத்தில் பிரதி வெள்ளி தோறும் வழிபாடு நடைபெற்று வந்தது.
25.10.2002 – வெள்ளிக்கிழமை என்பீல்ட் நாகபூசணி அம்பாள் ஆலயம் என்ற பெயரில் அம்பாளின் திருவுருவச்சிலை ஸ்தாபிக்கப்பட்டு வழிபாடு நடைபெற்றது
26.10.2002 ஆலயத்துக்கான கட்டிடம் 61’ – 65’ Church Lane , Edmonton இல் கொள்வனவு செய்யப்பட்டது. இதற்கான நிதியின் ஒரு பங்கினை 09 அறங்காவலரும்…மேலும் அதனோடு தலா 5000 பவுண்களை 18 திருவிழா உபயகாரர்களும் வழங்கிப் பேராதரவு நல்கியமையால்..அம்பாளுக்கான சொந்தக் கட்டம் கொளவனவு செய்யப்பட்டது.
07.09.2003 விநாயகர்இ முருகன்இ தட்சணாமூர்த்தி;இ வைரவர்இ நவக்கிரக தேவர்கள் முதலான தெய்வ மூர்த்திகளுடன் அம்பாளுக்கு பஞ்ச குண்டலங்களோடு கூடிய மகா கும்பாபிசேகம் நடைபெற்றது.
2005 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதன் முதலாக கொடியேற்ற மகோற்சவம் நிகழ்ந்து தொடர்ந்;;து அவ்வருடமே அம்பாளுக்கு புதிய சித்திரத் தேரும் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு அம்பாள் தேரேறி வருகின்ற நிகழ்வு நிகழ்ந்தது.
2008 ஆம் ஆண்டு 100 நாட்களாகக் கோடி அர்ச்சனை நடைபெற்றது.
2010 ஆம் ஆண்டு பிள்ளையாருக்கும் புதிய சித்திரைத் தேர் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு விநாயகரும் தேரேறி வருகின்ற நிகழ்வு ஆரம்பமானது.
2013 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆலயத்தினை மறுநிர்மாணம் செய்வதற்கான தீர்மானமும்இ அதற்கான திட்டமும் இந்து தமிழ் கலாச்சாரச் சங்கத்தினரால் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்டது. இத்திட்டத்தை செயல்படுத்துவதற்கான வினைத்திறனும்இ கட்டிட அனுபவமும் கொண்ட ஓர் ஆலோசனைக் குழுவினை ஆலயப்பிரதமக் குருக்களின் ஆன்மீகம் சார்ந்த பங்களிப்புடன் இந்து தமிழ் கலாச்சாரச் சங்கம் தேர்வு செய்து அப்பணிகளை அவர்களிடம் ஒப்படைத்தது.
இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து என்பீல்ட்கவுன்சிலிடம் கோயில் கட்டிட மறுநிர்மாணத்திற்கான அனுமதியைப் பெறுவதற்குரிய வேலைகள் ஆரம்பமானது.
இதேகாலத்தில்…ஆலய கட்டிடத்தினைத் பண்டைத்தமிழர் சைவப்பாரம்பரிய மரபுரீதியான ஆன்மீகம் சார்ந்த நெறிமுறைகளுக்கிணங்கக் கட்டியெழுப்புவதற்கான அனைத்து செயற்பாடுகளும் இலண்டனிலும்இ தமிழகத்திலும் ஆரம்பமாகின. இதன் முதல் நிகழ்வாக கருங்கல் திருப்பணிகளுக்கான பொறுப்புக்களைத் தமிழர் கட்டிட வரலாற்றுப் பாரம்பரிய பெருமைமிக்க மாமல்லபுரத்தின் சிற்றூராம் வடகடம் பாடியிலுள்ள சிற்பாசாரியிடம் ஒப்படைக்கப்பட்டது.
25.01.2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு கருங்கல் திருப்பணி வடகடம்பாடியில் சிறப்பாக நிகழ்ந்தேறியது.
10.04.2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு கோயில் கட்டிடத்துக்கான அனுமதி என்பீல்ட் கவுன்சிலினால் வழங்கப்பட்டது.
தொடர்ந்து… ஆலய மூலஸ்தான நிலைப்புள்ளிகளின் கணிப்புகள்இ கட்டடநிர்மாணப் பரிமாண நிலப்புள்ளித்தேர்வுஇ மற்றும் மரபுசார் நவதானியப் பயிரிடல்இ ஆ மேய்தல் என்ற இன்னோரன்ன செயற்பாடுகளும்… கட்டிடப் பொறியியல் அத்திவார வேலைகளும் இடம் பெற்றன.
22.06.2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு சங்குஸ்தாபன நிகழ்வுகள் மிக விமரிசயாக நடைபெற்றதோடு அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து பாலஸ்தான கட்டிட வேலைகள் ஆரம்பமானது.
28.08.2014 ஆம் ஆண்டு பாலஸ்தானம் நடைபெற்று… அத்தோடு பிரதான ஆலய கட்டிட வேலைகளும் ஆரம்பமாகின.
01.06.2017 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆலயப்பிரவேசம் (Opening Ceremony) நடைபெற்றது.
04.06.2017 ஆம் ஆண்டு உத்தமோ உத்தமபட்ச 33 குண்ட சகித ஸ்வர்ன பந்தன மகாகும்பாபிசேகம் நடைபெற்றது.
2017 ஆம் ஆண்டு முருகனுக்கான தேரோட்டம் ஆரம்பமானது.

ஆலய பிரதான கடமைகளும்இ சடங்குகள்… பண்டிகைகள்… கிரியைகளும்
• தொடர்ந்து ஆறுகால நித்திய நைமித்திய வழிபாடுகளும் நடைபெறுகின்றன.
• வருடம் தோறும் அலங்காரத்திருவிழா 2004ம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து நடைபெற்று வருகின்றது.
• 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டில் இருந்து 100 நாள் கோடி அர்ச்சனை வருடம் தோறும் நடைபெறுகின்றது.

• என்பீல்ட் நாகம்மையின் பெயரினால் 2004 ஆம் ஆண்டு சித்திரை வருடப்பிறப்பு அன்று ராகுகலாப்பூiஐயும்இ அடியார்கள் தங்கள் வேண்டுதல் நிறைவேற்ற வேண்டி தங்கள் கைகளினால் பால் அபிசேகம் செய்யும் பாக்கியமும் பிரதி செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை தோறும் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றது. குறிப்பாக எமது ஆலயத்தில் நாகசாந்தி வழிபாடு மிகவும் உன்னதமாக நடைபெற்று வருகின்றமையும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

கல்வியும்இ கலையும்
சிறுவர் சிறுமியரின் ஆற்றல்கள் ஆளுமைகளை ஊக்குவிக்கும் முகமாக பண்ணிசைஇ Keyboard,வயலின்இ வீணைஇ சங்கீதம்இ மிருதங்கம் ஆகிய கலை சார்ந்த வகுப்புக்கள் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. அத்துடன் கணிதம்இ விஞஞானம் ஆகிய பாடங்களும் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. சலங்கை வினோதம் (பரதநாட்டியம்) போன்ற கலைப்போட்டிகளும்இ இசைவிழாக்களும் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன. அம்பாளின் அருட்திறனை வெளிக்கொணரும் வகையில் கவசம்இ போற்றிமாலைஇ மற்றும் பாமாலைகளாக இறுவெட்டுக்களும் வெளிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

சங்கத்தின் தொண்டுகள்
தாயக மக்களுக்கு உதவும் நோக்கில் அம்பாளின் திருவருளின்துணையுடன் ‘தாயின் நிழல் திட்டம்’ இந்து தமிழ் கலாச்சாரச் சங்கத்தினால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டு அடியார்களின் உதவியோடு மனிதநேயப்பணிகள் நடைபெறுகின்றன. இதன்கீழ் மகாதேவா ஆச்சிரமம்(கிளிநொச்சி) செஞ்சோலை இல்லம் அன்பு இல்லம்இ (விநாயகபுரம்) விவேகானந்தா இல்லம்(வாழைச்சேனை), Hary இல்லம் (மட்டக்களப்பு) ஆகிய சிறியோர் இல்லங்களுக்கு நிதியுதவியளித்து வருகின்றோம். தாயகத்தில நிதியிலர்;இ கதியிலர்இ பதியிலர் குடும்பங்களுக்கு வாழ்வாதாரமாக மாதந்தோறும் நிதியுதவியளிக்கப்படுகிறது. வவுனியாவில் மணிபுரத்தில் உள்ள ஆனந்த இல்லத்தில் மனநலம் குன்றிய தாய்மார்களின் பராமரிப்புகான கட்டடம் கட்டிக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது! மேலும் இவற்றைவிட விவசாயிகளுக்கு விவசாயம் செய்வதற்கான கிணறுகள் அமைத்துக் கொடுத்தல் போன்ற நலன்புரி திட்டங்களுடன் மட்டுமல்லாமல் முல்லைத்தீவு மாவட்டத்தில் வறுமைக்கோட்டின் கீழ் வாழ்கின்ற இரண்டு வயதிற்கும் உட்பட்ட குழந்தைகளுக்குப் பால்மா சத்துணவுத்திட்ட உதவிஇ வறுமைக்கோட்டிற்கு கீழ் உள்ள பல்கலைக்கழக மாணவர்களுக்கான நிதியுதவிஇ நல்லை ஆதீனக்கட்டிடப் புனரமைப்புப் பணிக்கான நிதியுதவிஇ பல்கலைக்கழக சைவ மகாநாட்டிற்கான நிதியுதவிஇ யாழ் இந்துக்கல்லூரி பழைய மாணவர் சங்கம் (ருமு) தாயகத்தில் ஏணிஏறும் எனும் புத்தக வெளியீட்டுச் செலவுஇ தாயகத்தின் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளின் மெய்வல்லுனர் போட்டிகளுக்கான பிரதான அனுசரணைஇ நூலக இணையத்தள சேவைகளுக்கான நிதியுதவிஇ யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் St. Johns (சென்யோன்ஸ) பாடசாலையில் யுத்தத்தினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பிள்ளைகள் படிப்பதற்கான நிதியுதவியும் வழங்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றது.
இவைகள் மட்டுமல்லாமல் இங்கிலாந்து இலண்டனில் தமிழ் பாடசாலைகளுக்கான உதவிகள்இ இலண்டனில் நடைபெற்ற திருமுறை மாநாடுஇ தமிழ் ஆராய்ச்சி மகாநாட்டுக்கான நிதிப்பங்களிப்புஇ இலண்டனில் தமிழர் விளையாட்டு விழாவிற்கான நிதியுதவி அத்துடன் MIND HEART UK, AIR AMBULANCE ஆகியவற்றிக்கும் மனிதாபிமானப் பணிகளைச் செய்து வருகின்றோம். இதனை விட நேபாளத்தில் பூகம்பத்தினால் பாதிக்கப் பட்ட மக்களிற்கும் நிதியுதவி செய்துள்ளோம்.
இத்தொண்டுகள்… பணிகளின் தொடர்ச்சியாக… தாயகத்தில் இல்லங்களில் வாழும் சிறுவர் சிறுமியர்கள்.. குடும்பத்தனர்க்கு..யாம் எமது நிதியுதவிகளையும்… ஆதரவினையும் HTCA இன் ‘தாயின் நிழலின்’ ஊடாக ஆற்றிவருகின்றோம்.

This Association was founded in 2001 by a group of individuals, who are socially interactive and culturally involved and residing in and around Enfield Borough, came together by agreeing to create a religiously and culturally based environment for the Tamils who were displaced from their Homeland, Sri Lanka and migrated and settled down in the same area in order to assist them in releasing their pain, distresses and sufferings they had experienced in Sri Lanka.

Vision

Our vision was to facilitate and promote religious and cultural activities amongst those displaced Tamils believing that it would help to alleviate their pains and distresses through engagement and participation in those activities.

Based on this vision, our main objectives included the following:

• To promote and regulate Hindu religious activities, to establish and manage a place of worship, to enhance and promote Tamil language, culture, art, science, sports, youth activities and to facilitate welfares of Tamils in U.K, Sri Lanka and other countries

Name of Temple & First Place of Worship

HTCA did choose the “Deity of the Shrine” for the place of worship to represent the one from Nainatheevu, a beautiful islet in the Northern part of Sri Lanka, popularly known as “Nagapooshani Ambaal”, a form of Goddess Shakti in Hindu worship philosophy.

We commenced our initial religious activities in latter part of 2002 by conducting prayers and worships with the presentation of a ‘pictorial image’ of the chosen Deity on every Friday at Malden hall in Victoria Road, Edmonton creating a holy environment for the Hindu Tamil Community. These activities expanded into major cultural and communal events and functions and had progressively enabled and empowered HTCA to bring in the Holy Statue of the chosen Deity, Nagapooshani Ambaal, from Tamil Nadu with the invaluable guidance of the Chief Priest.

Due to the exceptional rapid growth in popularity and support from the community in and around Enfield Borough, HTCA was driven to find our own property and premises to conduct and to continue our organisational tasks. In June 2003, we located a property with a building in 61-65 Church lane, Edmonton which was originally used as a ‘light-weight industrial Refrigerating Warehouse owned by Capital Refrigeration Services Ltd’ and the Trustees and the ‘Temple Thiruvizha Sponsors’ jointly funded its purchase and its refurbishing and restructuring to make it suitable to be used as a Place of worship, a Temple, with the Shrine of the chosen Deity.

Activities and Growth at Temple

Gradually the activities in this Temple building were extended to include, besides daily worship and prayer, educational support in linguistic, artistic and musical development for younger generation of Tamil and other communities which engaged, encouraged and empowered the younger minds and souls in morally and mentally elevated plane of high thoughts and social deeds. With these activities, the prayers, worshipping and gatherings and the spiritual power generated from the Deity and the associated Temple environment of peace and harmony continued to blossom and attracted people from all over United Kingdom including other communities with diversified cultural and religious backgrounds.

These development and growth were made possible only because of the devotion, tirelessness, full commitment, dedication and continuous efforts of the Trustees, Priests and Devotees who have given their time, money and life to this Temple. In addition, the spirituality of the Temple was further enhanced by the unique quality and capability of our ‘Chief Priest’ together with his knowledge and involvement in Tamil Language and Culture.

Charitable Activities of the Temple

The HTCA not only want to provide their services to the affected Tamils taken refuge here in Enfield but also wanted to extend their support to their affected brethren in Sri Lanka, especially those who are disabled, mentally affected, families without bread-winner, widows and orphaned children taken refuge in various ‘Homes’ in North and East of Sri Lanka by donating funds in partly financing their social, religious and educational needs and also helping in creating employment facilities.

The children homes in Sri Lanka which benefits from HTCA include, amongst others, Mahadeva Ashramama Children Home (Killinochchi), Senchcholai Children Care Home (Killinochchi), Anpu Children Home (Mulaitivu), Hari Children Home (Batticaloa) and Vivekanantha Girls Home (Valachchenai). We have also helped to build a residence for Anantha Illam Foundation (Vavuniya) and have been providing financial help to war torn families with widows and disabled people in need.

In addition, the Association also supports UK Charities, Sports and Educational Activities of local Schools and Countries affected by natural disasters.

The Trustees, devotees and worshipers have been participating in raising the funds to support these charitable activities.

A Replacement Traditional Temple Construction Project

Since the start of the Temple activities, the encouragement and enthusiasm from the trustees, worshipers and devotees had driven HTCA to build a Replacement Hindu Tamil traditional Temple and the project was carefully planned and developed by addressing and considering the existing environmental, health and safety issues and incorporating sustainability and innovative aspects.

As a first step, in February 2011, HTCA became registered as a Company and also as a ‘Charitable Institution’, appointing them as Directors/Trustees with the Company House and Charity Commission respectively in UK enabling them to proceed in constructing the Temple.

HTCA had defined a building project scope with architectural and structural specification based on the Anthropological and pre-historical ancient Indian Hindu Temple traditions, Tamil culture and their well rooted values few thousand years ago and it engaged community-based professionals with expertise, experience, knowledge, enthusiasm and inspirations to plan, design, engineering, construction and manage deliverables to build this Temple. HTCA also setup a funding management structure to administer the financial support given by the devotees, worshippers, well-wishers and by community-based commercial institutions.

The project team studied and followed the traditional Hindu Temple structures from South India and developed their design and detailing, adopting the concepts used by their ancestors who built several outstanding ancient Temples in India, Sri Lanka and South East Asian Regions. The investigations, surveys and assessments were also carried out geo-technically, structurally and architecturally by the project team to establish and develop the building elements for the Temple. The project team also took an innovative approach to create a traditional Temple to represent a bridging of an ancient Temple building tradition with the modern global building concepts and highly developed technology.

The planning permission was granted by the Enfield Borough Council on 28^th April 2014 after our concerted and highly focused continuous efforts over a period of about three years. In parallel the project team with the support of the Trustees developed a mutual relationship with a specialist granite masonry and exporting contractor, Baba Stones, from a pre-historically ingrained in Tamil Nadu called Vadakadampadi of Mamallapuram, a little village very closer to the region of lost land of “Lemuria”. Also, the Trustees, Chief Priest, Devotees and Project Team Members visited Vadakadampadi on 25^th January 2014 and attended traditional ceremonies and rituals in commencing the granite masonry work for this holy Temple.

Works in association with newly constructed Temple

The project program commenced with Bhoomi Pooja on 22nd June 2014, followed with a very enlightening ceremony called “Conch-Laying Ceremony” for the shrine of the new Temple. It continued with the construction of “Balasthapanam”, a young Temple within the Temple premises, to receive the eternal power and the bliss of the Deity from the existing Temple Shrine. Then the site works program commenced with the demolition of the existed building that followed by the substructure elements including piling, ground beams and underground services installations and moved on to super structure elements, steel work, block works etc.

Project Cost, Funding and Completion

The cost of the entire project was estimated at £2.2M and the Trustees sought funds firstly from the Devotees of ‘Nagapooshani Ambaal’ and then from community-based commercial institutions, Professionals and from HSBC Bank and the response received from them were amazing. The construction of the Temple was successfully completed in mid-2017 amidst all difficulties and challenges and was officially opened on 1^st of June 2017. Consecration ceremony (“Maha Kumbabishekam”) of the Temple according to Hindu Rites and invoking the sanctification and blessings of ‘Nagapooshani Ambaal’ was a very special event and was held on 04th June 2017.

Temple Today

Now, as Trustees, we are proud to say that our Temple is actively continuing and passionately engaged in providing all the religious, cultural, educational and linguistic services as outlined in our visionary objectives. In addition, HTCA is also progressively working towards all the objectives related to aimed charitable causes in the UK and Tamil Homeland in Sri Lanka and receiving very positive and encouraging feedbacks from all the beneficiaries concerned.
